Looking for something totally different this September?
Why not join us for our all American Yankie Weekend?
Join us as we celebrate all things America at the Churnet Valley and leave you feeling like you are in the American dream. Enjoy being hauled by our resident steam engine USATC Class S160 No.5197. Based at the Churnet Valley Railway this American built class of war locomotive was designed for war time use and were widely used around Europe. This particular locomotive did not make to the uk until the 1990’s having spent all of its working life abroad. What better way to travel during the All American Yankie Weekend than being hauled by a Yankie Engine?
With the Signal Tearooms at Froghall station being converted into the Signals Diner you will be able to pick up milkshakes, hot dogs, burgers, fries and much more as the tearoom takes on a disguise you have never seen before.
Live the American dream as you swing and jive to the live music provided at Froghall Station. With a small bar serving some of Americas finest wines, beers and cocktails! If you think this is just another drinking event, then you are very mistaken.
With a Churnet Valley first we will be hosting our very own outdoor cinema! An online Poll will be taking place shortly on our Facebook page to determine which film people wish to see so don’t miss out and cast your vote. But one thing sure is a good old sing along will on the cards while you sit back and enjoy the film under the stars. With popcorn and BBQ on offer you won't be going hungry either so be sure to book well in advance.*
For the kids we have a selection of activities to keep them busy with a Word search, crafts, colouring and more to be confirmed we will be sure to keep the whole family busy this September weekend.
*Those booked to see the film are requested to bring there own seating and blankets incase it gets cold. The film will start at 18:45 with an evening train service running all night. This includes return travel back to Cheddleton if you wish to park at Cheddleton and travel on the train down to Froghall.
