Guest Steam Locomotive Footplate Experiences

05/10/2018 (3 years ago)   Events

We are delighted to announce that the former British Railways Western Region Manor class locomotive No. 7827 Lydham Manor will be visiting us at the Churnet Valley Railway for all of February 2019 from the Dartmouth Steam Railway in Devon.

This will be the first visit time that the locomotive has worked north of Somerset since it first ran in preservation in 1973.

As part of its visit we have two Top Link Footplate Experience days available where you will have the opportunity to drive and fire Lydham Manor over 22 miles of the Churnet Valley Line.
The experience will last for approximately 3 hours which include the opportunity to help prepare or dispose of the locomotive along with time for pictures at Froghall Station.
You are invited to bring up to 6 guests who can ride on the carriages during your experience.
For more information on this experience please contact our office on 01538 360522 or enquiries@churnetvalleyrailway.co.uk
