Local children will be looking forward to the first ever appearance of the loveable Peppa Pig at the Churnet Valley Railway later this month.

Peppa Pig and George will be delighting their fans when they make guest appearances at the popular Staffordshire Moorlands tourist attraction on Saturday 11th August, Sunday 12th August and Wednesday 15th August 2012.

The popular duo will make personal appearances at certain times throughout the day to coincide with train arrivals and departures.  The event will also include face painting, bouncy castle, games and activities, tombola, walkabout entertainers.

Margaret Mountford, Commercial Manager at Churnet Valley Railway said: “We are delighted to give local children the opportunity to see their favourite characters in person, whilst enjoying a good family day out.  We have been amazed at how popular ‘Peppa’ events have been at other heritage railways – many have been overwhelmed with visitors – so don’t forget to pre-book your train ticket to guarantee that your little ones don’t miss out and get to see the cheeky little piggies.”

Trains will be running from 10.30am to 4.30pm on each of the three days, and Peppa Pig & George are at the Railway at certain times throughout the day. Visitors can start their day at either Kinglsey & Froghall Station or Cheddleton Station, near Leek.

To book your place, telephone 01538 360522, Mon – Fri between 10am – 4pm. If pre-booked the tickets are £14 per adult, £11 per senior, £7 per child and £40 for a family of 4. Tickets on the day will cost £15 per adult, £13 per senior, £8 per child and £44 for a family ticket. Platform tickets will not be available for this event.
