10 Years Of Cauldon Lowe Branch

10 years ago today saw the first steam train operate on the Cauldon Lowe Branch in Preservation

It is exactly 10 years ago today that one of our trains crossed thorough the gates at Leekbrook Junction and ventured out onto the Cauldon Lowe Branch. Many thousands of visitors to the railway have now experienced this impressive railway line, where sizeable engines work hard to pull their trains up the gradients.

Throughout October and November this year, tickets can still be booked to travel on one of our steam hauled specials. Please visit our Post Lockdown Page to book your ticket.

As we are unable to run any special event to celebrate this milestone in our history, our Managing Director Gregory Wilson, who was formerly Operating Director at Moorland & City Railway recounts how this all started back on the 31st March 2009 in a solicitors office in Birmingham. www.churnetvalleyrailway.co.uk/cauldonlowebranch
