This weekend’s 1940’s event at the Churnet Valley Railway is all set to include a new feature – a 1940’s themed Beer Festival !

All three stations will have a bar running over the course of the weekend, with six real ales available at Froghall, two at Consall and three  at Cheddleton along with a selection of ciders as well. Unfortunately beer will not be on sale at 1940’s prices !

As well as a few tried and tested Titanic ales, there will also be several beers from small local breweries, such as Shugborough, Hydes and Castle Rock.

The Full List includes : -

At Froghall :

  • Woods – Shropshire Lass 4.1%
  • Raw – Grey Ghost 5.9%
  • Hydes – Celsius 4.1%
  • Shugborough – Miladys Fancy 4.6%
  • Titanic – Plum Porter 4.9%
  • Titanic – First Class 3.8%

At Consall:

  • Titanic – Anchor 4.1%

At Cheddleton:

The bars will be open from 11am at all three stations each day, and a trolley service will also operate on all trains throughout the weekend serving the Churnet Valley Railways newly released selection of bottled Real Ales from Staffordshire Brewery. There are four available, named after each station along the CVR, so why not come on down and try them for yourself?
