Carnival of Doom!

Prepare for the comeback of the century as Churnet Valley Railways Ghost trains return under the new name of Carnival of Doom! 

Prepare for two action packed nights of Frights, Freaks, Scares and Screams as the undead descend on the Churnet Valley Railway on the 25th and 26th October 2019. With the stations dressed to impress, all we will be missing is you! Our ever popular event returns of old making it one of the biggest events once again for the railway.


Froghall Station - The epicentre of the crisis!

The carnival is in town, but something is a miss as this is no normal carnival with freak shows and fire breathers walking among the undead. Enjoy entertainment all night in our very own big top tent with mad hat shows, music and dancing you will find something.
But with a big top you always get a Fun Fair, aimed at the younger of the family enjoy some of your favourite rides. Along with this there will be some stalls offering hook a duck, tin can shooting and more to be confirmed. Offering and all rounded carnival experience.
Froghall will also be hosting a Hog Roast and BBQ along with a disco and light show to really liven up the night. Don’t forget the bar which will be open from 16:00 serving pints, shooters and spirits of its own.


Consall Station – The haunted valley

The train has stopped, and no one can hear you scream in the haunted valley. Sit in silence as you wait for the spookspress fly by by but don’t sit too close to the window you never know what may reach in to get you!


Cheddleton station – The Quarantine Zone

The small village of Cheddleton has a huge problem. In this zombie waste land will you be able to survive and create the cure for the disease? Follow the clues and figure out which chemicals are needed to help save the railway!

A treasure trail will be available from the station for the young ones to do while you wait for the next train. Follow the clues and explore Cheddleton as you try and find out what chemicals will save the railway. Also, on offer will be a BBQ and the Good shed Tearooms serving hot and cold food. A disco will be taking place from 18:00 along with a request DJ. Face Painting will also be available from Cheddleton as well as a few spooky going on’s which are to be confirmed.
